From a surprise proposal in Majorca to one team for the whole day at Hoghton Tower — Jasmine's real wedding story.
Andrew and I first met at work. Realising we shared the same interests, we hit it off, became great friends, and soon after started dating.
We'd been together eight years with no engagement ring in sight, so the proposal was very unexpected. In May 2019 we hired a villa in Pollença, Majorca with two close friends. On the last night, after our nightly barbecue, Andrew asked for a last holiday photo by the pool with the dusk skyline behind us. As we posed he said, "I love you, and want to spend the rest of my life with you," got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I cried (a lot) and said YES!
As soon as we got home I jumped into the planning. We saw Hoghton Tower on the front cover of the Little White Books magazine, went to view it — only a 20-minute drive away — and fell in love instantly.
Nearly every supplier we booked we found through Little White Books, and that's where we found the amazing DFC. They took a lot of the stress away without us needing a wedding planner — they provided the photographer, videographer, harpist, DJ, saxophonist and percussion. Because we booked them all through DFC, I only had to liaise with one person, Bethany, who was fantastic at bringing our wedding together.
My one piece of advice: tell your suppliers exactly what you want. Wedding planning is stressful, but when the day arrives it's totally worth it — and it just falls into place.
